Lifesaving Society Affiliate Meeting …Gallagher Centre – 455 Broadway Street W

The Lifesaving Society Affiliate meeting will give aquatic managers, head guards, recreation directors, etc. an opportunity to do some idea sharing, get informational updates on our programs and services and see what’s trending in aquatics and drowning prevention.   Participants are welcome to bring facility brochures, etc. to hand out to other meeting participants. Agenda items will be confirmed closer to the event date.

Annual General Meeting …Gallagher Centre – 455 Broadway Street W

The 52nd Annual General Meeting of the Saskatchewan Branch will take place from 7:00pm – 8:00pm at the Gallagher Centre.  The Board and membership will review the audited financial statements and the Branch’s past year’s activities.  The election of officers will also take place at the AGM.  Nominations for vacant Board of Director positions are now open.

Networking Social (après AGM) … Brown’s Social House – 275 Broadway Street E

Let’s get together and catch up!  This social will begin after the Annual General Meeting and will take place at Brown’s Social House.   Cash bar and food for purchase available.

Professional Development Day … Gallagher Centre – 455 Broadway Street W

The Professional Development Day consists of three main sessions that will are relevant to aquatic managers, instructors and lifeguards.  Additionally, there will be updates from the Branch on various programs and services.

Lifesaving Sport Promo Clinic … pool session – 455 Broadway Street W

This clinic is a bonus session and not a formal session of the Professional Development Day. (i.e. Attendance is not mandatory to receive 2 recertification credits).  This clinic is worth 1 recertification credit. 

The clinic will lead participants through various Lifesaving Sport skills such as the line throw, mannequin carry and underwater obstacle swim. 

As Lifesaving Sport grows in our province, we want to give our members the opportunity to try out some of the skills and learn about how they can get involved.  Don’t forget your swim suits!

NLS & First Aid Recertification Clinic … Gallagher Centre 455 Broadway Street W

Clinic Outline:

Based on feedback from our members as well our wish to engage more with our instructors, the Branch is implementing mandatory face to face recertifications for First Aid and National Lifeguard Instructors.  We will be running this as a pilot project for the next two years.  This process will also recertify FAI/NLSI's in their Lifesaving Instructor award. 

The clinic will run 9am – 1pm.  There is no pool session.  Please bring your NLS Award Guide and/or First Aid Award Guide, pen and paper.
